As a group we feel a good blog consists of having lots of pictures and emoticons to enhance the text. The text itself must be engaging to the reader and keep them interested and entertained. Choose popular topics to discuss. The blog itself has to be visually appealing. Since this is a 日本語クラス blog try not to use translator websites, and stick to 漢字 that we have learned as a class.

What makes a good blog? According to our group, Joshua, Edgar, Adeyemi, and Jason, we feel that first of all making a good blog in Japanese depends on the correct usage of 漢字. Also, youtube videos and pictures can emphasize points that are made in the blog post. Also, blogs should have a purpose and it helps to organize them, especially by breaking up one giant paragraph into many smaller ones. And most of all, NO GOOGLE TRANSLATION!!! The results just sound weird and don't come out correctly. ^o^ "meow!"

From the desks of Ritika, Audra, Yun, & Arielle:
The makings of a good blog: Part I (There won't be a Part II):
First, it should be aesthetically pleasing. Meaning: The font should be legible and the layout should draw the eye.
After catching the attention of your would-be readers, the content should be interesting and cohesive.
Those are the basics.
As an added plus - EVERYONE likes pictures. It keeps people reading.
Also, original backgrounds give a larger appeal to the blog as it helps distinguish one blog from another.

First of all, the blogger needs to have enthusiasm about blogging. A nice decorative background is always good to have to draw attention and to keep fellow bloggers interested in what you have to say. Including pictures is useful for understand what is being said, commenting on others' blogs is good for networking, gaining followers and popularity.
